New Wine family and friends of New Wine,

I am sure many of us identify with these statements, ‘I don’t have enough!’ and ‘I am not enough!’. As a result, we live our lives out of a place of discontent and lack, constantly comparing ourselves to others. This obviously leaves us feeling unhappy and stressed out.

Is this what Jesus wants for us? Is this what Jesus came to give His life for? Is this what Jesus rose to life for? Absolutely not! Jesus’ life, death and resurrection secures so much more for us, that we can ever imagine. What His life, death and resurrection secured, is more than enough for us- today and for all time!

Through Jesus death and resurrection, He has forever destroyed the power of sin, death and indeed Satan (I John 3:8). In fact, Paul says that Jesus, through his death and resurrection ‘disarmed the principalities and powers… made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them by the cross.’ (Philippians 2:15). Jesus has triumphed over Satan and all his works of darkness. Jesus can never be defeated by sin, the powers of darkness, and Satan; and
neither can any of us, who are in Jesus. No power of hell can overcome us, who are in Jesus.

Jesus’ death and resurrection secured full redemption and full salvation for all who by faith, accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord (Hebrews 9:26-28). ‘He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him.’ (Hebrews 7:25). Jesus’ death on Calvary and His glorious resurrection declare to every believer for all time that He has completely rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into His Kingdom, where nothing can snatch us
out of His hand (Colossians 1:13-14).

Jesus’ death and resurrection secured full reconciliation with God the Father, for all who would come to Him, through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). This glorious truth assures every believer that nothing will ever separate us from the love of God that is ours in Jesus (Romans 8:37-39).

Jesus’ blood shed on Calvary speaks a better word forever (Hebrews 12:25)… forgiveness, grace, reconciliation and the defeat of the powers of darkness. Whatever the evil one throws at us, Calvary will speak a better and more powerful word for us for all time.

Through Jesus death on Calvary and His rising from the dead, and His glorious ascension to heaven, He is now seated in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and His name is shown to be above every other name (Ephesians 1:19-23). That same power of the Holy Spirit, which raised Jesus up, and seated Him in glory forever, is alive and at work in the lives of every believer, in whom Jesus lives, by His Holy Spirit
(Ephesians 1:16-20). Moreover, through Jesus resurrection from death, ‘God has raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Jesus Christ’ (Ephesians 2:6). Because Jesus rose, every believer is now seated in Him, who is Lord overall.

Precious friends, I could share so much more about what Jesus secured for all believers through His life, death and resurrection. I am sure, however, that you cannot deny from the little I have shared that Jesus has secured more than enough for us. He has been and will always be enough for us, if we let Him be. Don’t let anything or anyone move you from this glorious place in Jesus. His resurrection from death shows us clearly that He is the all-
sufficient One (2 Corinthians 12:9), that He is always more than able (Ephesians 3:20), that nothing ever impossible for Him (Luke 1:35). He is enough for us, for every believer, for all time.

Mother Theresa describes this truth of Jesus’ all sufficiency for us for all time: ‘When you
have nothing left but Jesus you have more than enough to start over again.’ May you look
afresh to Calvary and Jesus glorious resurrection to find grace, confidence and courage to
declare afresh: ‘Jesus you are enough for me!’.

Bless you all,

David Stansbury
