Tithes and offerings
What does the Bible teach us about giving?
Read: -Malachi 3:6-12 -Matthew 22:21 -Luke 12:21 -2 Corinthians 8 & 9
- We are encouraged to bring our full tithe (the first tenth) of what we earn/have into the storehouse (the local church where we worship.)
- More than a tithe, we are encouraged to give as an offering towards various projects.
- We are encouraged to be generous in our giving towards the Lord and His work.
- We are taught through Holy Scripture to give from what we have and not from what we do not have.
- Committing to a planned and ordered Dedicated Giving programme en-ables the parish to budget carefully and efficiently towards the goals laid out on the previous page.
Giving results in thanksgiving and blessing as the Church reaches out to its own community and to all who are in need around us—to the very ends of the earth!
Paul suggests, in Romans 12:1, that the very best way in which we can honour and worship God is by offering ourselves as a “living sacrifice to Him” in service and life.
One of the values, New Wine, holds highly, is the value of generous giving. Our starting place is our tithes, and thereafter if we are able, we can sow into the ministry of Jesus kingdom, through New Wine, by means of our freewill offerings. If you would like to contribute to the Lord’s work in and through New Wine, by way of your tithes and offerings, please use our bank details, which will appear under the subsection, ‘bank details’. When making your contributions, please the reference ‘your name + tithe/offering’
